Software that allows the introduction of high-performance ISS technology into cable recording systems

The ISS method uses a cable-less system that continuously records seismic motions.

The selection of vibrograms of individual accumulations associated with a particular shot point from various files in SEG-D 3.0 format can be done using standard seismic data processing software packages. To this end, NPP «Spetsgeofizika» has developed the Transcriber program to simplify and speed up the steps of preparing primary field seismic data for processing in the office. The program can perform the following tasks:

  • reading files of SEG-D 3.0 format;
  • creation of vibrograms of individual accumulations;
  • correlation and total savings;
  • parallelization of primary data speeds up the processing of large volumes of data;
  • Vibrograms (correlograms) are recorded in a file in SEG-Y format (FFID number, shot point picket, group number, etc. are recorded in the trace header)

To generate the vibrogram (correlogram) associated with a particular shot point, the Transcriber program uses information about the GPS start time of each impact on the shot point. The GPS time file is generated by th GDS-II® control unit and contains information on all impacts of each source group. Based on the GPS value of the impact start time to the shot point from this file, the duration of the control sweep signal, and the registration time, the program extracts the individual stored vibrogram and writes them to a SEG-Y file with a service trace containing the control sweep signal of the corresponding group of sources or generates a correlation and the correlogram are written.
